Fun with Fruit Preservation

In localities where fruit is plentiful at harvest time, much of it rots on the ground, which brings to mind the old proverb: "Waste not, want not."
Yet there is a death of printed matter on food preservation in the libraries, and the "homemaker's grapevine" is the common carrier of information and misinformation.
This book has been compiled in an effort to combine under one cover the excellent research efforts of the government agencies (US Department of Agriculture and local Extension Services) and booklets and pamphlets of the manufacturers of food preservation supplies, together with workable solutions of successful, experienced homemakers in the various methods of saving food in season.
The emphasis has been on simplification of the information so that a beginner could proceed intelligently, even if mother or grandmother isn't available for consultation.
