The legendary story of the Martin Handcart Company is the backdrop for this theatrically released drama.
Handcart is historical fiction that weaves true stories of heroic acts and combines them with fictional characters to tell the story of the handcart pioneers who suffered during the Martin Company trek of 1856.
The movie follows Samuel Hunter (Jaelan Petrie) as he joins the company because of his love for Mormon pioneer, Abigail (Stephanie Albach).
The filming of this movie gives it a "Seminary" feel but the telling of this incredible true story of the Martin Handcart Company will bring tears to your eyes and move you to appreciate the sacrifice of the early pioneers.
