My Sacred Callings
by Rena Peterson and Patricia P. Peterson
How do you preserve the memorable moments you have experienced through your callings in the Church? After years of service it may be difficult to recall the people and events that have helped shape you and your testimony as you served.
Do you remember the time the power went out while teaching primary and you used it as an object lesson for fighting the adversary? Or the time Susie got stuck when she attempted to climb out the window while you had your back turned writing on the chalkboard?
What about the volunteers who spontaneously showed up to help while you were serving as a Compassionate Service Leader, and how that helped shape your testimony of service as you watched the love and unity increase in your ward?
Do you remember the inspiration you received while serving and how it impacted someone's life? What about the youth activity you helped organize where you witnessed the changed hearts of the youth? Do you recall the river-rafting trip with the young men that resulted in a capsized canoe and the life lessons you were able to teach the wet and frightened boys as a result of that experience?
Our lives are richly blessed by such experiences which become precious memories that may be lost if not recorded.
This unique journal will help you preserve memories of the sacred and memorable experiences you've had while serving. When you write your experiences from your callings in this journal, you will never forget how those events impacted your life and the lives of others.
Every calling gives us powerful experiences worthy of being documented. Record how your callings increased your abilities and strengthened your testimony. Remember the friendships with whom you've served and the people whose lives you've touched. My Sacred Callings is an easy to use journal to help you preserve those memories and will become a cherished part of your family records.
Each calling journaling section has a place for you to write what your calling was, when you served, and where you served. This journal also has thought-provoking prompts, making it easy for you to fill in the blanks. It asks such questions such as, "How did you feel when you received your calling?" "What challenges did you encounter and how did they help you grow?" "What inspiration, insights, and promptings did you receive while serving?" If you are starting this journal in the later stages of life there is a helpful worksheet provided to help jog your memory.
My Sacred Callings is an excellent gift for youth to use throughout their lifetime, helping them learn that callings and the experiences they will most certainly have are sacred experiences worthy of writing down.
A wonderful journal for any age---from Beehive Class President and Deacon to Family History Specialist!
